Whenever you select a member placement tool, you will see a property panel open on your design screen that is appropriate for the selected tool. Within the property panel and its corresponding contextual ribbon tabs are controls to adjust how you place the structural member, including its section definition, its placement orientation in the design file, its automatic coping behavior, and a preview window. There are also data properties and analytical options in addition to the placement options that relate to the specific type of structural member.
